Shalom is a permanent resident in Japan and speaks both English and Japanese and can also communicate in Japanese Sign Language. Her home is in Kansai (during summer in Nagano), she has been babysitting many of our guest families visiting Japan since 2017. She is comfortable working with all ages and AED and CPR trained. Shalom took care of two of our children age 8 and 11 today. To use the words of my elder one, best baby sitter, ever! They came back with a huge smile on their faces and lots of local Japanese traditions to tell us about. She is absolutely fluent in both English and Japanese, and born and bred here. On time, and flexible (we had to change our plans suddenly), she kept us in the loop with what they were up to, photos and co. Super!

Shalom watched our 20 months old son for several days while we attended a conference in Kyoto. She was very professional, punctual and flexible when we needed to make some adjustments to the schedule. Our son warmed up to her really quickly (which he doesn’t usually do with strangers) and really enjoyed spending time with her. She was very attentive and kind to him. She was even able to get him to nap while his sleep schedule was off due to jetlag. Would definitely hire her again if we are back in Japan.

Shalom was exactly what we needed. We recently moved to Okinawa and have several friends visiting the mainland that we’ve traveled to see. Our son is 11 months old and our first so are still a bit nervous leaving him behind. Shalom immediately put my husband and I at ease: She watched our son two nights in a row and he took to her immediately, I couldn’t recommend her more and will definitely request her when we are back in the area.

Shalom was fantastic. She was on time, a great communicator (English but speaks Japanese as well) and importantly put us at ease as our 16 month old felt comfortable and engaged with the time she had with Shalom. We would highly recommend her for anyone needing support during your Japan stay.

Shalom was amazing. Being completely bilingual in English and Japanese, she took our 9 and 10 year olds out on a day trip to Kyoto. For them it was the best day of our Asia stay. Shalom kept updating me throughout, sending pictures and updates, following my recommendations beautifully and also incorporating her ideas being a local. She is super reliable, funny, caring and absolutely organized showing me detailed receipts of their spendings from the day. I would hire her immediately again if I am back in Japan.

Shalom was on time and confident and did a great job with my two young children, even though they were hot and tired from a long day. They were happy when I got back and she gave me a detailed report of everything they did.
